The History of the Grabski Family

The 1930 federal census shows Adam and Angeline Grabski in the town of Kronenwetter (right next to Leo and Mary Rozanski). Adam is 50, Angeline is 49. They have kids: Anton 15 b. in PA, Joseph 14 b. in PA, John Adam 11 b. in WI, and Helen 10 b. in WI. This census says that Adam immigrated to the US in 1912. Angeline is also shown to have immigrated in 1912.

[on May 6, 1942 John - 5'7", 163 lb., enlisted in the Army from Marathon County. Joseph, 5'6", 158lb, a welder, enlisted in the Army Air Corps on 7 Oct 1942]

US Immigration records show that an Adam "Grapski" , age 39, 5'6" and b. about 1881, arrived in NYC on the "President Grant" from Hamburg. His nationality is Polish,  and he last lived in "Bossy", Russia. His wife, Aniela "Grapska",  remained behind in Bosy.   ["Bossy" is the way the hand-written entry was written, "Bosy" is the way the town name was transcribed.] Adam had more than $50 with him and was headed to Stanislaw Tomkiel at 410 Center street in Shenandoah, PA.

According to the 1910 Federal Census for Shenandoah, PA. It shows that Stanislaw Tomkiel, age 36 and his wife, Johanna, age 20 lived on Centre Street in Shenandoah. He was a saloonkeeper. He was Polish, born in Russia. She was Polish, born in PA. He came to the US in 1898. So they were real and Tony and Joe were probably born in Shenandoah.
